ABOUT

Isabella (Bella) is a director from London who makes work that is vivid, punchy, and fundamentally joyful. She is drawn to queer and female-led stories that have a real human heart, and her work is often darkly comedic, socially engaged, with a hard-hitting core. Her approach to directing is one of both precision and playful curiosity, and her practice is deeply collaborative and boldly theatrical.
She has worked in both directorial and dramaturgical capacity on new writing projects, and is always keen to read fresh scripts and meet new writers.
After years of being immersed in Fringe theatre while living in Edinburgh, she moved to London, where she continued to develop her practice with Director's Cut at the Southwark Playhouse. She is currently completing her MA Drama Directing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she is refining her craft and making exciting new work. She also holds an MA in English Literature with first class honours from the University of Edinburgh.
